Coating board paper machines begin with a pulping process where the raw materials (usually recycled paper, wood pulp or other fibers) are broken down into individual fibers to create pulp. The pulp is then diluted with water and passed through a series of screens and wire meshes to drain the water and form a continuous sheet of paper. The paper is mechanically pressed to remove excess water and compact the fibers, increasing the density of the paper.
